This week’s post comes from Frank Smith. Frank is our resident software guru. This week he’s given us a Top Tip for fixing Microsoft OneDrive Sync issues as he’s been finding many clients having the same issue recently….
OneDrive is an online backup / sync feature which is included with all Office 365 subscriptions and is now built in to Windows 10.
Issues can often occur when the user has a particularly slow internet connection speed, the files or folders to be synced are very large, or the computer is shut down half way through a sync operation.
Whatever the cause; the solution is usually quite a simple one:-
With a simple ‘Right Click’ of the OneDrive icon in the bottom right hand corner of the computer screen, a ‘Repair’ button will be visible. Clicking this button will start the repair wizard which will scan your local OneDrive folder and compare the contents with your online library. Any files which are not present on the computer, will be picked up from OneDrive online and vice versa, fixing the vast majority of OneDrive sync problems.
So there we have it. All you needed to know to fix this one yourself. Of course, our team of Techies are always ready to answer your call and assist you in any tech query you have so please do not hesitate to give them a call if you’re stuck 01425 600 066.
